WSP is currently initiating a search for an M&A Integration SVP. This role is a Senior Leadership position which will lead and manage all Operational Integration activities on behalf of Executive Operational Leadership Teams. As a key member of our Business Improvements and Change Management Organization this presents a challenging and fulfilling opportunity to be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges.

The M&A Integration SVP will initially coordinate, manage, lead, and support integration related to all TRC operations activities, with a focus on the Power & Energy Business. This role will drive accountability at all levels within the business and ensure effective delivery of operational activities in a velocity-driven integration. It requires a thoughtful, partnering and collaborative approach with Executives, Senior Leaders, Technical Leaders and other Integration Workstreams, whilst applying taking initiative to identify and close out key planned and emergent tasks and aligned with the Integration Management Office expectations. The successful candidate will bring senior-level operational leadership, strong change management capability, operational experience and empathy, to develop and deliver practical integration plans that support business readiness, employee engagement, risk management, and successful transition through go-live, implementation, embedment, and closeout.

Your Impact

  • Working with the wider BI&CM Organization, develop and establish M&A integration processes, procedures, systems and tools for the US Region.
  • Develop, manage and provide governance and reporting for all M&A Integration activities across the US Region.
  • Lead all P&E Operational Integration activities on behalf of the P&E Executive Leadership Team.
  • Develop Business Line and Service Line Operations plans which cover the integration of TRC through organizational design change, business readiness, go-live, implementation, embedment, and closeout.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings required to complete key steps across each integration phase with Executive Leaders, Senior Leaders, People Leaders, Technical SMEs and delivery personnel across the Business Line and Service Line teams.
  • Establish a clear structure for managing integration activities, including action tracking, follow-up, escalation, and closeout, in order to drive accountability at all levels across the business, ensure effective engagement and ownership, and to prompt progress against integration tasks.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping to develop tailored engagement plans for key stakeholder groups and partner with HR, communications, change management, and senior leadership teams to develop a clear communication and engagement plan for Operations employees.
  • Act as a Senior Leadership as a trusted focal point to support timely communication to employees, so they understand and provide feedback on the integration journey, key milestones, expectations, and emerging issues.
  • Provide an inspirational leadership approach to celebrate and short-term integration wins and successes balanced against longer-term integration objectives to sustain engagement and momentum.
  • Apply extensive operational and leadership skills and experience to work with HR and global change teams to thoughtfully integrate multiple organizational cultures in a way that supports retention, continuity, delivery, and belonging.
  • Pragmatically develop and maintain a risk register identifying key operational integration risks, mitigation actions, escalation needs, and ensure these are effectively progressed in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate impact analysis with Senior Leadership Teams to agreed organizational structures for the Business Line and for each Service Line to broaden integration engagement and ownership, identify roadblocks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
  • Working with the recruitment and leadership teams, identify and onboard critical resources needed to successfully drive change tasks, including part-time and full-time support requirements.
  • Build trust and rapport through liaising regularly with senior leaders and people leaders, to gather feedback, provide support, attend team meetings, and maintain a consistent approach to integration execution.
  • Manage governance of all P&E operations integration activities, including decision-making, escalation management, documentation, and access to key materials.
  • Lead Business Readiness activities across Operations teams and partner with other workstreams, to provide a clear position to Executive and Senior Leaders on gaps and risks.
  • Ensure timely identification and resolution of emerging integration issues by engaging appropriate leaders and teams, defining actions, and driving closure.
  • Ensure User Acceptance Testing and related working groups include appropriate Operations representation and that feedback is captured, managed, and implemented.
  • Support and where appropriate lead broader TRC integration activities where critical or emerging issues require Operations leadership, structured engagement, or cross-functional coordination.
  • Identify, manage and close out legacy POWER integration activities in conjunction with the TRC program.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, organizational development, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant post-education experience in operations leadership, integration management, business transformation, organizational change, or related leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex business integration, transformation, merger and acquisition integration, or enterprise change initiatives.
  • Strong experience developing business readiness plans, implementation plans, stakeholder engagement plans, risk registers, and governance structures.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with executive and senior leaders, people leaders, HR, communications, change management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, resolve issues, escalate risks appropriately, drive decisions in a complex environment, and ensure accountability across all levels in the business.
  • Experience leading through ambiguity while maintaining structure, accountability, and momentum.
  • Strong understanding of operational delivery, organizational design, business readiness, and employee engagement considerations.
  • Extensive experience of creating and leading inspired operational delivery cultures to ensure the future state provides an inspiring home for all team members.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, as required by business or project needs.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in business administration, organizational leadership, engineering management, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting integration activities related to mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale organizational transformation.
  • Experience working in professional services, engineering, infrastructure, consulting, operations, or project delivery environments.
  • Experience with ERP implementation readiness, user acceptance testing, super user networks, or operational change adoption.
  • Change management certification, project management certification, or related professional credential.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence without direct authority, and support retention during periods of organizational change.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $182,400-$367,200

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
