This is a senior hands-on technical role with responsibility for architecture, planning, operations, lifecycle management, standards, and continuous improvement across Windows and Linux systems, virtualization platforms, enterprise hardware, storage arrays, backup platforms, and core infrastructure services.
What you will be doing
- Manage the global Windows server infrastructure, including operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
- Administer Linux servers (RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or Debian) to a working proficiency level, supporting day-to-day operations and routine troubleshooting across the mixed estate.
- Administer and maintain virtualization platforms, including VMware Cloud Foundation, vCenter, and Hyper-V.
- Manage enterprise systems hardware, including server, storage, and backup platforms.
- Contribute to infrastructure planning, operational improvements, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and technical issues, across both Windows and Linux environments.
- Administer Windows Server, Server Core, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Develop PowerShell automation for operational tasks, reporting, deployments, and maintenance; apply shell scripting for equivalent tasks on Linux systems.
- Apply DevOps practices — including CI/CD pipelines and version control — to infrastructure automation and deployment workflows across both platforms.
- Manage Dell PowerEdge and HPE ProLiant server platforms.
- Manage enterprise storage platforms, including NetApp and HPE MSA arrays.
- Administer backup and recovery platforms, preferably Veeam.
- Perform patching, upgrades, hardening, firmware updates, and capacity planning across both operating environments.
- Monitor availability, performance, capacity, backup status, and overall system health.
- Support and manage workloads across on-premises and cloud infrastructure (Azure and/or AWS).
- Improve infrastructure stability, security, scalability, recoverability, and operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks.
- Collaborate closely with network, security, application, vendor, and service provider teams.
- Participate in an on-call / standby support rotation.
The Player

- Strong experience administering Windows infrastructure, virtualization, servers, storage, and backup platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, including Windows Server Core.
- Strong experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, LDAP, and authentication services.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Working proficiency administering Linux servers (RHEL, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, or Debian), including routine administration and Bash scripting.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems.
- Strong experience administering VMware Cloud Foundation, vCenter, and/or Hyper-V environments.
- Strong experience with enterprise server hardware, particularly Dell PowerEdge and HPE ProLiant.
- Strong experience with enterprise storage platforms, particularly NetApp and HPE MSA.
- Strong experience with enterprise backup and recovery platforms, preferably Veeam.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, subnetting, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Solid knowledge of DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, LDAP, SMTP, SNMP, WMI, and TLS/SSL.
- Experience with monitoring platforms such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Grafana.
- Experience with Tanium or similar endpoint management and deployment tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
- Understanding of ITIL practices and change management processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
