Senior Card Payments Specialist

Join Starling Bank, the UK's leading digital bank, as a Senior Card Payments Specialist. In this hands-on role, you will provide subject matter expertise on card payments, working closely with engineering and technology teams to ensure compliance with card scheme rules and operational requirements. You will also support incident resolution and provide input on payment projects and new banking products. The ideal candidate will have approximately 15 years of experience in banking and financial services, with deep knowledge of card payments and major card schemes.

• Acting as a senior subject matter expert for card payments across the organization, providing practical expertise across the design, build, and ongoing operation of the banking environment.
• Working closely with engineers and technical teams to ensure card payment capabilities are designed and implemented correctly, with appropriate consideration given to card scheme rules, operational requirements, controls, and compliance.
• Providing specialist payments expertise during incidents, service disruptions, and other operational issues, supporting investigation, diagnosis, and resolution.
