About The Role

Join our team as a Manufacturing Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in developing the processes, equipment, and factory that produce our bots and structures at scale. You will collaborate closely with our hardware engineering and system integrations teams to prototype, productionize, and deploy manufacturing solutions that drive our business growth and meet exceptional customer demand. Your responsibilities will include identifying and delivering various DFx projects, designing tools/fixtures, fabricating tools/fixtures, preparing economic analyses, troubleshooting production problems, and occasionally building components alongside production technicians. You should have at least 5 years of practical experience with various manufacturing technologies, software knowledge of Solidworks or OnShape, and a passion for working on an immature project and shaping the future of the company.

  • Identifying, scoping, delivering, and verifying various Design for Excellence (DFx) projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Designing tools and fixtures in 3D, fabricating them from metals or polymers, and deploying them to manufacturing lines.
  • Troubleshooting problems that arise during production operations, training production technicians, and occasionally supervising the flow of work to ensure it meets process specifications.
  • You are able to lead a MODAPTS or MOST time study
  • You can convey complex ideas and technical concepts to a diverse audience, including technicians and associates building the product
  • 5+ years practical experience with various manufacturing technologies including sheet metal forming, CNC milling, electromechanical assembly, and injection molding
  • Software knowledge of Solidworks or OnShape for equipment design, FlexSim or similar for discrete event simulation
  • Openness, inquisitiveness, and constant ambition are important values
  • Demonstrable experience with designing, deploying, testing, and maintaining the various tools/fixtures used in an electromechanical assembly process (owning the work cell)
  • You are excited about working on an immature project, growing together, and shaping the future of the company

  • Certified as a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or greater
  • Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent
  • Experience bringing a product from concept to mass-production
