Technical Writer (Service)

Join our team as a Technical Writer, where you will create clear and comprehensive documentation for our autonomous surface vessels. You will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders, maintain technical maintenance documentation, and ensure adherence to industry standards. Strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. Experience in a technology-driven environment or the defense industry is preferred.

• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to gather information and understand technical specifications and requirements.
• Create and maintain technical maintenance documentation, including service manuals, work instructions, service support, etc.
• Review and edit documentation for accuracy, consistency, and clarity, ensuring that it meets the needs of our target audience.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively
• Familiarity with docs as code, markdown content formatting, Javascript, CSS, and Nunjucks templating a plus
• A proactive and self-motivated approach to work, with the ability to work independently and take initiative when needed
• Familiarity with DoD standards and regulations related to technical documentation is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a technology-driven environment or within the defense industry
• Proficient with version control systems and front-end development
• Bachelor's degree in English, Engineering, or a related field
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Experience documenting complex hardware and software platforms is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• Candidate open to travel is a plus
