Embedded Software Engineer (Intern, Spring 2027)

Join Zipline, the world's largest drone delivery service, as an Embedded Software Engineer Intern for Spring 2027. In this role, you will design and develop software for our new P2 Zip and Droid delivery system, scale our flight and distribution center software, and prototype next-generation flight and ground systems. You will work alongside cross-functional partners and gain valuable experience in embedded systems and autonomous aircraft technology. This is a full-time, in-person internship at our South San Francisco office.

• Concevoir et développer une plateforme logicielle pour le nouveau système de livraison P2 Zip et le système de dock.
• Prototyper, tester et affiner les systèmes de vol et de sol de prochaine génération en collaboration avec les équipes d'ingénierie mécanique et électrique.
• Développer des solutions de perception pour toutes les conditions météorologiques et tous les environnements réels.
• You’re comfortable working in one of C, C++, Python, or Rust, and have developed software for a real time operating system or embedded Linux
• You've designed, built and/or deployed electromechanical systems or robots, inside or outside the classroom
• You are comfortable receiving feedback so that you can learn to write code that is efficient, easy-to-read, well-tested, has friendly APIs, and incurs minimal technical debt
• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. Must have at least completed the second year of your Undergraduate studies. Masters and PhD students are also eligible
• You’re familiar with basic electrical engineering concepts, such as reading schematics, debugging with an oscilloscope, and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, UART, etc)
