Application Engineer: Night Shift

As we scale across African markets, the volume and complexity of merchant integrations continues to grow, particularly outside standard business hours. We need dedicated Application Engineers on our night shift to ensure merchants receive the same quality of technical support and integration guidance around the clock, without gaps in coverage.

This role combines

• Hands-on technical support for merchants integrating with Peach's payments infrastructure
• Direct collaboration with Product, Engineering and Account Management to solve real merchant problems in real time
• Ownership of documentation and process improvement to drive self-service and reduce repeat queries
• Relationship building with merchants and their technical teams as their primary point of contact during integration

How you'll be making a difference

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for merchants and their technical teams during integration, working in a night shift environment
• Understand merchant requirements and translate how Peach's products can solve their business and technical challenges
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Account Management to help merchants understand what is technically possible
• Interact with merchants by email, phone and video to guide them through integration and troubleshoot issues
• Optimise internal and external documentation and processes across our product suite
• Work with the Team Lead to refine tools and practices that increase self-service efficiency, recommendation accuracy and overall service quality

Who you are

• Comfortable working on a shift basis outside of standard business hours
• Strong understanding of technical systems with the ability to translate that knowledge into clear merchant guidance
• Background working with switches and payment infrastructure such as MSDK, Base24, ACI, Bankserv/Payinc, or technical banking experience with payments and card issuing
• Self-organised with the initiative to identify and act on opportunities for improvement
• Strong relationship builder with both internal teams and external stakeholders
• Working business writing and spoken English
• Valid work authorisation in your country of residence

Advantageous Experience

• Understanding of programming languages such as Python or JavaScript
• Previous payments industry experience
• Familiarity with API-based integrations and RESTful services
