The Role

Our site in Decatur, TX is seeking a Production Scheduler Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration.

The Production Scheduler Co-Op/Intern will support manufacturing operations by assisting with production scheduling, order prioritization, and capacity planning activities. The role will help maintain accurate production schedules, monitor schedule adherence, and identify potential material or resource constraints that could impact delivery performance. This position will also support reporting and data analysis to improve visibility to key operational metrics and drive continuous improvement. Working closely with Operations, Planning, and Supply Chain teams, the intern will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing while contributing to on-time delivery and schedule compliance objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in developing and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Monitor production progress and update schedules based on changing priorities.
  • Review open orders and help prioritize work to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Identify material shortages, capacity constraints, and other scheduling risks.
  • Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams to resolve schedule issues.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling data within the ERP system.
  • Track and report key performance indicators such as Schedule Compliance and On-Time Shipment.
  • Support production planning meetings by preparing reports and schedule updates.
  • Analyze production data and recommend opportunities to improve workflow and efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on scheduling, planning, and operational performance.

What We Seek

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data management and reporting.
  • Basic understanding of production planning, scheduling, or supply chain concepts preferred.
  • Ability to learn and navigate ERP/MRP systems and other business applications.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous internship, co-op, or project experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or logistics
  • .Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Access, or other data visualization/reporting tools.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in manufacturing operations, planning, or supply chain management.

  • Desired Graduation Date: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing preferred .Expected graduation between December 2027 and May 2029 (flexible based on program requirements and availability).
  • Preferred Candidate Profile: Students with an interest in manufacturing operations, production planning, scheduling, supply chain management, and data analytics who are seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced production environment.

Eligibility

  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program
