This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on building, evolving, and sustaining critical, high-scale <systems.You> will work on highly available, low-latency microservices supporting large volumes of concurrent users.The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership and architectural <decision-making.You> will help define scalable solutions, modernize legacy systems, and drive engineering best practices across the team.A strong focus is placed on automated testing, resilience, observability, performance, and clean software <design.You> will collaborate within an Agile and DevOps environment, contributing to CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native platforms.The position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on complex systems while helping other developers grow technically.

Accountabilities

Develop, maintain, and evolve highly available, low-latency microservices capable of supporting significant numbers of concurrent users, while ensuring reliability and scalability.

Provide technical leadership to developers through knowledge sharing, technical guidance, mentoring, and rigorous code reviews.

Design and define solution architectures, integration strategies, technical standards, and appropriate technology choices for complex engineering challenges.

Drive software quality and resilience by promoting automated unit, integration, and contract testing, as well as Clean Code, SOLID principles, and established Design Patterns.

Monitor application health and proactively identify performance bottlenecks, implementing optimizations and continuous improvements to reliability and efficiency.

Contribute to the evolution and modernization of the technology landscape by planning and supporting the migration of legacy systems or monolithic applications toward modern, decoupled microservices.

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, technical refinements, effort estimation, and engineering discussions, while supporting CI/CD pipelines in AWS and Kubernetes environments.

Requirements

  • Proven professional experience in software development with strong expertise in the Java ecosystem and experience working on complex, high-scale applications.
  • Deep knowledge of Java 21+, including object-oriented programming, concurrency, multithreading, and modern Java capabilities.
  • Solid experience with Spring Boot and Spring Data for developing production-grade applications and services.
  • Practical experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka and AWS SNS/SQS.
  • Strong experience with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB.
  • Advanced experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing using JUnit and Mockito, as well as tools such as Testcontainers or RestAssured.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, combined with knowledge of AWS cloud environments.
  • Experience with application observability and monitoring tools, with the ability to analyze system health, identify issues, and support performance improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, combined with a collaborative mindset, technical ownership, and the ability to communicate and share knowledge effectively.
