First Year Representative

The First-Year Representative will support a variety of roles within Comm Street and have the opportunity to gain exposure and experience in areas such as video editing, marketing, hosting, and outreach.

This role is intended for students who are passionate about media, eager to explore different areas of the service, and interested in creating meaningful value for and giving back to the Sauder community. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are important, as the role may involve supporting different aspects of Comm Street throughout the year.

Time Commitment

• 5 hours a week
• September 2026 - April 2027

Main Responsibilities

• Assist Podcast Leads and executives with the production and editing of Comm Street media.
• Brainstorm and contribute creative ideas for podcast episodes, blogs, social media, and other content.
• Take ownership of assigned media projects from planning through execution.

Qualifications

• Interest in understanding what Sauder students need and identifying how to bridge the gap
• Previous experience in video editing, marketing, and/or public speaking is an asset
• Passion for creating honest and valuable conversations and connections
• Ability to look beyond the surface to consider and appreciate the experiences, circumstances, and perspectives that shape people's stories.
• Ability to receive and apply feedback and have a collaborative mindset
