Procurement Category Specialist

As a Category Specialist, you won’t just manage items – you’ll craft the story of your category. From building assortments and driving promotions to collaborating with suppliers and cross-functional teams, your work shapes what our customers see, experience, and trust.

What Will You Do?

• Build and manage your product category, from selecting items to negotiating with suppliers and finalizing the METRO catalog.
• Collaborate with Distribution Centers, Sales, Marketing, Logistics, and other departments to ensure a smooth category execution.
• Track and update special offers for different customer segments (HoReCa, Traders, SCO), together with your Category Manager.
• Cooperate with the Layout team to implement product placement strategies in stores.
• Maintain up-to-date records of contracts and documentation with suppliers, and accurately update purchasing and selling prices in the system.

What Makes You the Perfect Fit?

• You have one 1 - 3 years of experience.
• You're a  skilled negotiator , able to balance your position with mutual interests and find win-win solutions.
• You have strong  problem analysis skills  – you connect data points, identify trends, and extract the essence from large volumes of information.
• You show  empathy in communication , adapting your tone and message to different stakeholders and building strong internal and external relationships.
• You’re a  true team player , eager to share knowledge, support colleagues, and achieve collective goals.
• You embrace a  growth mindset  – you seek feedback, learn from challenges, and stay resilient when things get tough.
• You are confident in  MS Office , especially Excel, and well-organized in handling systems and documentation.
• You communicate clearly in both  Serbian and English , written and verbal.
