About The Role

Duties

(a) To be responsible for the development of evidence-based learning resources for supporting primary and junior secondary students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) in reading and writing, with specific foci on:

i. designing the teaching content, lesson plans and teaching and learning materials for group training;

ii. trying-out the effective teaching strategies and lesson plans at primary and junior secondary class levels; and

iii. conducting lesson observation and refining the teaching and learning resources;

(b) To enhance the knowledge and skills of school personnel and related professionals in supporting students with SpLD in reading and writing through:

i. initiating, planning and conducting territory-wide/theme-based workshops/ seminars to equip teachers of relevant skills and knowledge; and

ii. conducting or assisting in school-based working meetings, network meetings on resources development and sharing of good practices to facilitating cross-fertilisation of expertise;

(c) To collaborate with schools and other educational institutions on resource development ; and

(d) To perform any ad hoc duties as assigned.

Entry Requirements

(a) A Hong Kong bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Education (majoring in Chinese Language) or Psychology, or equivalent;

(b) A Certificate in Education from a Hong Kong tertiary educational institution, or equivalent;

(c) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 3 or above in Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) [See note], or equivalent;

(d) At least 6 years' experience in teaching Chinese Language;

(e) Experience in teaching and/or providing support to primary or secondary students with special educational needs preferred; and

(f) Expertise in applying the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing remedial learning resources on supporting primary or secondary students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD) preferred.

Pay

$65,925 per month

Terms of Appointment

Successful candidates will be employed on non-civil service contract terms for 1 year.
