About The Role

Who We Are

At Conquer, we help go-to-market teams connect more meaningfully, act more effectively, and grow more predictably. As a leader in intelligent revenue engagement, we empower our customers to orchestrate the right message at the right time across every channel.

We believe bold ideas, authentic collaboration, and a growth mindset are essential to conquering your day and your goals. If that excites you, we would love to meet you.

Why This Role Matters

Real-time communication sits at the heart of the Conquer platform. As our Senior Platform Engineer, Voice Infrastructure, you will own and evolve the systems that power how sales teams connect with customers through calling, routing, and intelligent workflows.

Voice at Conquer is more than communications infrastructure. It is foundational to how we understand customer interactions and increasingly how we deliver real-time, intelligent experiences across our platform.

This is not a traditional telecom operations or high-level architecture role. We are looking for an engineer who combines deep telephony expertise with strong software and platform engineering skills. You should be equally comfortable designing how the platform should evolve and getting into the code, FreeSWITCH, SIP routing layer, containers, and production infrastructure to build it.

Your work will directly impact call quality and reliability today while helping build the voice foundation for the next generation of Conquer's platform.

What You Will Do

  • Design, build, and scale Conquer’s telephony infrastructure and the software services that support it
  • Work directly within FreeSWITCH, including call logic, dialplans, ESL integrations, and complex production troubleshooting
  • Build and evolve OpenSIPS routing logic and signaling infrastructure
  • Own integrations with domestic and international SIP trunking providers
  • Write, review, debug, and maintain production backend and platform code
  • Work directly in production environments, troubleshooting complex issues across SIP signaling, RTP/media paths, carriers, networking, and application services
  • Improve observability across the voice stack, including SIP, RTP, and media paths
  • Develop and evolve call routing, dialing workflows, and real-time communication services
  • Build, deploy, and operate containerized voice and platform workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Product leadership to shape the longer-term architecture and technical roadmap for Conquer's voice platform
  • Help ensure the voice platform can support emerging real-time intelligence, automation, and AI-driven experiences
  • Document systems and create tooling and runbooks that improve team understanding and operational readiness

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of software, platform, or infrastructure engineering experience, including significant hands-on experience with production telephony systems
  • Deep, hands-on production experience with FreeSWITCH, including dialplans, call logic, ESL, and complex production troubleshooting
  • Strong hands-on experience with OpenSIPS or comparable SIP proxy technology, including personally building or modifying routing logic
  • Deep understanding of SIP and RTP and experience diagnosing signaling, media-path, NAT, codec, and call-quality issues using packet captures and SIP traces
  • Experience owning real-time communication systems in production environments
  • Strong software engineering skills and demonstrated experience designing, writing, reviewing, and debugging production backend or platform code
  • Experience with Go, Python, or another backend/systems programming language
  • Hands-on experience building, deploying, troubleshooting, and operating containerized production workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience designing reliable, scalable systems with a focus on performance, resilience, and uptime
  • Strong experience with observability, monitoring, and production incident response
  • Ability to move comfortably between high-level architecture and hands-on implementation
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across Engineering, Product, and other teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WebRTC end-to-end, including ICE, STUN, TURN, and DTLS-SRTP
  • Background with browser-based softphones or CRM-embedded calling experiences
  • Experience building or operating low-latency, real-time media systems
  • Experience with streaming audio, speech-to-text, transcription, or real-time inference pipelines
  • Experience building infrastructure that supports AI-driven voice or agentic experiences
  • Experience with real-time media observability and monitoring
  • Experience with VoIPmonitor, Homer, or similar voice observability tooling
  • Experience with call recording and transcription
  • Exposure to telephony-related compliance considerations such as TCPA, STIR/SHAKEN, call recording laws, and consent management

What Success Looks Like

  • You have improved call reliability, performance, and uptime across the platform
  • You have closed gaps in observability and improved visibility into real-time signaling and media performance
  • You are contributing production code and platform improvements, not simply recommending them
  • Engineering and Product teams rely on you as the subject matter expert for telephony and real-time communications
  • You proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact customers
  • You help define and execute a clear, forward-looking architecture and technical strategy for Conquer's voice platform
  • You have strengthened the voice foundation needed to support new real-time, intelligent, and AI-enabled product experiences
  • You build systems with scalability, resilience, security, and compliance in mind

What We Offer

  • Competitive Compensation. U.S.-based candidates can expect a range of $180,000 to $225,000 depending on experience and geography. Compensation for international candidates will be aligned with local market benchmarks.
  • Equity Opportunities so we all share in Conquer’s growth
  • Remote-First Flexibility so you can work where you thrive
  • Comprehensive Benefits for US candidates including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) with company match
  • A growth-focused culture with learning budgets, mentorship, and internal mobility
  • Generous PTO

Our Commitment to Diversity

We believe diverse teams win. At Conquer, we are building a culture where everyone can show up as their full self, contribute meaningfully, and grow beyond their comfort zone. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.

While we welcome and will consider highly qualified candidates based outside of the United States, we are not able to provide visa sponsorship at this time. Applicants must have current authorization to work in their country of residence without employer sponsorship.
