About The Role
The position of Communications Intern will be responsible for working with the Communications Specialist to implement the internal and external communications programs and projects for The Aparecio Foundation. The Communications Intern may also be responsible for assisting with creating, writing and editing of communications in order to enhance the image of the organization. The Communications Intern will assist in writing or selecting favorable publicity material and releasing it through various communications media. Also required is the assistance of monitoring trends that indicate the need for new products and services, and providing project updates to the Marketing & PR Director and the Communications Specialist.
Description of Duties / Responsibilities
- Support in the response to requests for information from the media or designate another appropriate spokesperson or information source.
- Study the objectives, promotional policies and needs of the organization to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products and services.
- Assist in planning, development and communication of informational programs to maintain favorable public perceptions of the organization's accomplishments and agenda.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee, and public interest groups through communication.
- Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences, including employee newsletters and stockholders' reports.
- Confer with production and support personnel to produce or coordinate production of advertisements and promotions.
- Assist in the arrangement of public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits for clients to increase product and service awareness and to promote goodwill.
- Assist in consulting with advertising agencies or staff to arrange promotional campaigns in all types of media for products, organizations, or individuals.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Some work experience in related field.
