About The Role

JOB SUMMARY: Lead the purchasing team to be effective and reactive to production needs while ensuring cost-saving measures, procedures, and company objectives are followed and successfully implemented.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Identify strategic partners and deliver improved cost reductions for the organization through supplier management, negotiations, strategic sourcing, commodity management, and total cost principles.
  • Manage the purchasing suggestions for RFP and PO creation, late deliveries, requisitions, and reporting for purchasing team.
  • Ensure the organization’s SOPs, direction, and goals are communicated and executed within the purchasing team.
  • Manage workload, expedites, priorities, and commodities within the purchasing team.
  • Minimize purchasing price variance overage and defective material issues.
  • Work with Quality for vendor rework, scrap, and accurate certificates of compliance.
  • Determine bulk buys where there are cost savings and added support to manufacturing production.
  • Collaborate across multiple departments, including production, procurement, quality, and engineering to expedite materials required to support customer demand.
  • Must be able to communicate and effectively deal with all members of the staff.
  • Reliable and punctual attendance with a positive and cooperative attitude.
  • Other duties may be assigned to accomplish company or department objectives.

Requirements

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience , preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience in Procurement, Sourcing, or Supply Chain related to raw materials used in the fabrication of industrial equipment.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and demand-driven planning environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe products.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment.
  • Experience within industrial manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy equipment industries.

Workplace Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in an office environment with frequent interaction with production and warehouse personnel.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Occasionally may be required to visit manufacturing areas and interact with suppliers and vendors.
