Facilities Technician

Vitalant is seeking a Facility Technician dedicated to making a positive difference. Your impact as a Facility Technician is vital. You will contribute to Vitalant's life-saving mission by maintaining, repairing, and installing building structures and equipment. You'll be familiar with departmental processes, work order management, card access, safety monitoring, MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and building automation.

What to Expect

• Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Base Wage: $22.89 - $29.63 per hour (based on relevant experience)
• Location: 717 Yosemite (will travel to other donor sites 1x/week)

As a Facility Technician, you'll get to

• Conduct inspections and maintenance at designated locations to ensure safe operations.
• Assist in the transportation of various equipment and supplies as required.
• Coordinate tasks with external contractors and vendors.
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed services and outsourced contractors.
• Aid the facilities team in ensuring staff compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice regulations, OSHA requirements, and departmental policies.
• Support maintenance staff with procedures, including carpentry, plumbing, drywall, ceiling, flooring, concrete work, and painting, as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid in-state drivers license required. Will drive company van.

​LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Tradesman license preferred (i.e. (HVAC, Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter, etc)

EXPERIENCE

• Three years of experience required, (i.e. Apprentice for HVAC, Plumber, Electrician, Carpenter or Facility maintenance or other building maintenance roles).

SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
• Able to make sound decisions on repairs.
• Able to work independently.
• Must be self-motivated.
