About The Role

Accountabilities

  • System Quality & Compliance: Monitor quality systems and associated feedback loops to ensure total compliance with approved processes, procedures, and manuals.
  • AOC & Regulatory Standards: Maintain compliance with Air Operator Certificate (AOC) conditions, CAAM regulatory requirements, and operational standards.
  • QMS Optimization: Oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet regulatory/organizational standards, drive continuous improvement, ensure aircraft safety and reliability, and eliminate process waste.

Responsibilities

  • CAAM & CAMO Oversight:
  • Monitor CAMO quality and feedback systems to ensure ongoing compliance with CAAM standards, specifically CAD 6802 paragraph 11.1.
  • Oversee CAME submissions and amendments to the CAAM for regulatory approval.
  • Liaise directly with CAAM and contracted Approved Maintenance Organizations (AMOs).
  • Audit & Surveillance:
  • Conduct planned audits and quality surveillance to ensure Continuing Airworthiness Management activities conform to CAAM-accepted procedures.
  • Verify that AirBorneo (AB) aircraft maintenance adheres to strict CAAM regulatory standards.
  • System Strategy & Occurrence Management:
  • Develop and direct all Quality System elements efficiently and economically in line with company and aviation authority needs.
  • Coordinate airworthiness occurrence actions, leading further investigations and follow-up activities as required.
  • Reporting & Escalation:
  • Report directly to the Accountable Manager on all quality matters.
  • Maintain direct access to the Accountable Manager to escalate unaddressed discrepancies and keep leadership informed on quality and compliance status.

Authority

  • Regulatory & Government Liaison: Authorized to act as the primary liaison with CAAM and relevant government bodies for Quality Assurance and regulatory reporting.

Delegation of Duties

  • Designated Alternate: Administrative, operational, and regulatory duties delegate to the Manager, Quality Assurance / CAMO Quality Manager .

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or other CAAM-accepted degree), Diploma, or SPM.
  • Licensing: Current or previously held B1/B2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AMEL).
  • Certifications & Training:
  • Completed Lead Auditor certification course (or equivalent Quality Management/Assurance training).
  • Formal training in initial and continuing airworthiness regulations.
  • Training in operational requirements, procedures, and CAMO Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition (CAME).
  • Knowledge & Skills:
  • Thorough knowledge of aviation Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Comprehensive understanding of CAAM regulations, airworthiness standards, and CAMO CAME.
  • Experience Profile:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Management and Quality Assurance.
  • Minimum 3 years in a management role.
