About The Role

Do you want to gain hands-on experience shaping the future of low-carbon construction? At sequestra, we develop cutting-edge technology to permanently store CO₂ in industrial mineral residues and turn them into high-value, climate-friendly building materials. Our solutions sit at the core of a sector with the potential to reduce global emissions by 4 gigatons. We are building the global leader in carbonation intelligence - and we're looking for a Working Student (all genders) to support our technical team with a wide range of hands-on tasks, from lab work to general technical support. This role is open to students from any technical field of study (Materials Science, Chemistry, Civil, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, or similar). We're headquartered in Vienna with two additional technical sites in Vienna and Upper Austria. Join an ambitious team and get real, practical exposure to a fast-moving climate-tech startup! Tasks Assist with day-to-day lab processes, including sample preparation, testing, and documentation. Support general technical tasks - from setting up inventory and equipment to organizing lab and storage spaces. Help maintain lab infrastructure, tools, and materials. Support process and material development activities as needed. Assist with general technical troubleshooting and hands-on problem-solving across projects. Contribute to a safe, organized, and efficient working environment. Requirements Currently enrolled in a technical degree program (e.g. Materials Science, Chemistry, Civil, Mechanical, or Process Engineering, or a related field) - all technical study fields welcome. Hands-on, practical mindset with a willingness to tackle a variety of tasks, big and small. No prior professional experience required - motivation and reliability matter most. Comfortable with physical, hands-on work (e.g. assembling shelving, lab setup). Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Passion for climate solutions - and ideally a healthy sense of humour. ;) Benefits Gain practical, hands-on experience at a mission-driven climate-tech company at the forefront of CO₂ mineralization. Get real responsibility and exposure to both lab and technical operations from day one. Work closely with a highly motivated team in a dynamic startup environment. Flexible part-time hours, to be arranged around your studies (exact weekly hours to be discussed). Work environment split between the head office Vienna and our two technical sites in Vienna and Upper Austria. Compensation is based on the applicable collective agreement with a minimum gross salary of €2.400 per month on a full-time basis (adjusted according to actual working hours), with the possibility of overpayment depending on qualifications and experience. We are looking forward to your application!
