About The Role

Under the direction of the Principal Investigator this position will perform and generate research experiments pertaining to funded NIH grants and university awards. The individual will run electrophysiological and behavioral experiments in mice, maintain genetically modified mouse lines, perform stereotaxic surgeries.

  • Collects, analyzes, and publishes data related to funded NIH grants, university awards, and foundation grants.
  • Performs data collection methods used in the lab, including but not limited to whole-cell patch-clamp electrophysiology, optogenetics, operant behavior, mouse drinking paradigms, and stereotaxic surgeries.
  • Assists in the training of others in the lab.
  • Analyzes, interprets, and disseminates scientific findings in peer reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Aids in the daily lab functioning by performing duties such as preparing chemical solutions and maintaining genetically modified mouse lines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • EDUCATION: Ph.D. or M.D. in Neuroscience, psychology, biology, or biomedical sciences (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
  • EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of laboratory experience. Prior experience in a neuroscience laboratory is preferred.
