About The Role
DescriptionDISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK:
This position is responsible for operating assigned vehicles and assisting staff in performing various repairs.

Operates a variety of vehicles to transport equipment and materials.
Operates equipment, hand tools, and power tools in performing various labor tasks in an assigned area.
Assists staff in performing sewer, water main, and related repairs.
Cleans and maintains vehicles, tools, and related equipment.
Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, including attendance at required meetings.

QualificationsEXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); related experience preferred; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
Valid State of Michigan Commercial Driver’s License Class A with Air Brake Endorsement
Applicants hired without a Michigan CDL A License will be hired as a Public Works Technician, and must receive their Michigan CDL A License within 6 months from date of hire to remain employed.
PARTS AND WEIGHTS OF THE EXAMINATION:
Oral 100%
DURATION OF LIST:
This list will be in effect for a period of six months.
POST-EMPLOYMENT OFFER REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory completion of medical examination, driving record check, and criminal background check (including sex offender registry if applicable) prior to start date.
All appointees are subject to a one-year probationary period.
