About The Role

Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Lead Café Attendant provides supervision of the Champuli Café front-of-house operations and staff to ensure exceptional guest service, operational efficiency, compliance with sanitation and cash handling standards, and successful execution of daily café and catering services.

Primary Tasks

  • Supervise front-of-house operations to ensure exceptional guest service, operational efficiency, and compliance with established standards.
  • Oversee the daily activities of Café Attendants, Stewards, and assigned program participants, including work assignments and task prioritization.
  • Train and coach team members to promote service excellence, safe work practices, and consistent execution of operating procedures.
  • Coordinate opening and closing activities, including POS adjustments, cash drawers, reports, inspections, and other necessary actions.
  • Utilize the POS system and support accurate customer transactions, cash-handling procedures, opening and closing processes, and resolution of routine guest or transaction concerns.
  • Coordinate front-of-house staffing and operational support for catering services, special events, banquets, and private dining functions.
  • Maintain dining room readiness, sanitation, cleanliness, and presentation standards to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Review guest feedback, service metrics, and operational results to identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Cook and Chef de Cuisine to support efficient café operations, control costs, and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • Experience operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and processing cash and credit card transactions
  • Knowledge of cash-handling procedures, daily reconciliations, and opening/closing procedures
  • Ability to read, interpret, and accurately fulfill customer orders and catering requests
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
  • Two [2] years of experience in a restaurant, café, food service, or customer service environment
