Student Assistant

This is a part-time role in the Reddy Lab for a student to gain hands-on laboratory experience. The assistant will help maintain daily lab operations and assist with active scientific or technical projects under supervision. This role is ideal for a student who is organized, detail-oriented, technically adept, and has basic laboratory skills.

• Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, provide laboratory support for ongoing scientific projects. All necessary training will be provided.
• Lab Preparation: Prepare chemical solutions, buffers, media, and reagents.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean glassware, sterilize tools via autoclaving, and calibrate basic lab instruments.
• Research Support Tasks: Support research staff with experiments, including cell culture and membrane isolation.
• Data Management: Record data meticulously, enter logs into digital systems, and help maintain organization systems.
• Safety & Upkeep: Follow strict laboratory safety rules, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and keep workspaces clean.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a Current USF Student
• Must be Awarded FWS Funds

Preferred Qualifications

• At least a ‘B’ grade in CHM 2045/2045L, or a ‘4’ grade in AP Chemistry.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
