Senior Legal Counsel

• Collaborer avec les équipes produit, conformité et commerciale pour concevoir et lancer de nouveaux produits, en traduisant les exigences légales et réglementaires complexes en solutions pratiques.
• Fournir des conseils pratiques et orientés vers les affaires aux dirigeants de l'entreprise, en aidant les équipes à naviguer dans l'ambiguïté et à prendre des décisions éclairées tout en équilibrant les considérations légales, réglementaires et opérationnelles.
• Diriger les initiatives réglementaires, y compris le soutien aux examens, aux audits, au travail de licence, au développement de politiques et à l'engagement avec les régulateurs.
• Business-oriented legal judgment: you start from the product or business outcome, then help the team understand risk, options, and a recommended path
• Able to operate independently in a lean team, make decisions with incomplete information, and move work forward without heavy oversight
• Fluency in English is required due to the percentage of English-speaking customers and the nature of our platform, which is available to all Canadians
• Familiarity with Bitcoin, crypto, securities, payments, AML, or regulated financial products in Canada
• Comfortable advising product and operational teams directly, including on ambiguous questions where there may not be a perfect answer
• Experience in a startup or scaleup environment where priorities change quickly and legal support needs to be pragmatic
• Canadian-qualified lawyer with 5+ years of experience, ideally in fintech, payments, financial services, crypto, or a fast-moving technology company
• Experience working across both a law firm and an in-house legal team
