About The Role

  • Work in a global team as an Individual Contributor with responsibilities and ownership for mechanical design in Value Engineering (VE) and Component Engineering (CE).
  • The responsibilities include schematic development, component selection, detailed design, verification testing, arriving inference from the test results and interfacing with cross functional/support teams (such as mechanical, manufacturing process, simulation, drafting, ECAD, evaluation, marketing, supply chain and external test labs).
  • The candidate will be working along with various teams such as design, simulation, drafting, evaluation, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain etc.
  • Additional responsibilities include technical report generation, documentation, and progress reporting.
  • It is also expected that the candidate would develop technical expertise in the product lines quickly to develop VE/CE ideas.
  • Candidate is expected to have good knowledge in mechanical design with the ability to use this knowledge on VE/CE ideation in mechanical packaging design for sensors.
  • He / She needs to have proven record of design delivery in a New Product Introduction (NPI) team for at least 8-14 yrs with.

QUALIFICATION

  • B.E/ B.Tech , M.E/ M.Tech in Electronic Engineering

EXPERIENCE

  • 7 – 11 years of experience

SKILL REQUIREMENT

  • Experience in Value engineering and component engineering. Knowledge on Value engineering methodologies.
  • Knowledge of should costing.
  • Sound knowledge of Analog and Digital Electronics design.
  • Hands on experience with various serial communication protocols such as SPI and I2C.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Micro-controller interfacing and Analog to Digital data conversion, designing with opamps, transistors, MOSFET, linear & switching regulators, Current output (4-20mA) circuits.
  • Familiar with Value engineering & alternate way of achieving the same performance with low cost.
  • Knowledge on latest technologies & low-cost alternate design/technology are preferred.
  • Should have strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Hands on experience with error budgeting of electronic circuits.
  • Prefer knowledge of sensors, instrumentation & signal conditioning electronics.
  • Conceptualize the product and translate the requirements into CTQs for design.
  • Experience in PCB schematics & exposure to layout design in (ORCAD/Mentor Graphics).
  • Good knowledge on Design for manufacturability, assembly & testing expertise.
  • Understanding of product certification requirements.
  • Exposure to handling engineering change request and engineering change order.
  • Problem solving Skills: Independently leads problem analysis to develop new processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrates accountability (collaborating with others) for the design / implementation/ delivery of subsystem/product.
  • Writes a project final report/ project team presentation or demonstration to a divisional customer or management.
  • Good Business Communication skills: Interacts with Partners at global locations, local team members & management stake holders and customers for requirements capturing.
  • Works with all the stakeholders to ensure that technical objectives are met with the given project/program constraints.
  • Active participation in the project planning/execution phases for technical risk management.
  • Understanding of product certification requirements.
