Lakeview is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join our Home and Community Services team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary: The Medical Receptionist serves as an important point of contact for our Home & Community Services patients, families, clinicians, and community partners. This position supports the day-to-day operations of our office and helps ensure calls, and other administrative needs are handled accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of customer service.

While our office is not a patient-facing location, we are very much patient-focused. Every member of our team plays an important role in supporting the patients and families we serve. The work completed in our office directly impacts the ability of our nurses, clinicians, and care teams to provide timely, compassionate, and high-quality care in the community.

A primary responsibility of this role will be answering and managing approximately 150 incoming calls per week related to our Home & Community Services programs (which include Hospice, Home Care, Home Based Medicine, and Palliative Care). The Medical Receptionist will work closely with other Medical Receptionists, the Administrative Assistant and other members of the team to ensure calls and requests are appropriately addressed and routed to the correct individual or department using established workflows within the department.

In addition to phone coverage, this position can support a variety of office and operational responsibilities, including but not limited to supply management, Medical Records support, and other administrative duties as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming phone calls from Hospice, Home Care, Palliative Care and Home Based Medicine patients, families, clinicians, referral sources, and other callers.
  • Manage approximately 150 calls per week, providing professional, compassionate, and timely customer service.
  • Determine the appropriate individual or department to assist with each call or request and ensure messages and information are communicated accurately.
  • Work collaboratively with the Administrative Assistant and other team members to maintain consistent phone and front-office coverage.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, organizing, and monitoring office and medical supplies as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the appropriate team members.
  • Assist with Medical Records tasks and other administrative functions as assigned.
  • Provide general office support to the Lakeview Home and Community Services team.
  • Assist nurses, aides, and other members of the care team when they come into the office to obtain patient supplies, materials, or other items needed to support patient care.
  • Help maintain organized and well-stocked supply and office areas.
  • Support a welcoming, professional, and organized office environment.
  • Assist with additional administrative projects, processes, and responsibilities as needed to support the department.

Work Schedule: 7:45a - 4:15p, working 4 days every week with one day off a week.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to work with Excel forms
