Ipswich Borough Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Business Support Accountant on a 12-month fixed term opportunity.
As an Assistant Business Support Accountant, you will play a key role in providing expert support and analysis for the Council’s services. This role primarily supports the HRA (Housing Revenue Account), SRP (Shared Revenues Partnership) and other key support services. You assist a Business Support Accountant to help ensure the Council meets its financial obligations, key objectives and critical deadlines.
We will be looking to appoint to either level depending on skills and experience.
If appointed to level 1 the council requires that you be working towards obtaining the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians). Full study support will be provided within the fixed contract term to enable you to continue your studies.
If appointed to the level 2 of the career grade we expect you to be a member of the AAT or relevant financial NVQ level 4 and above.
You will support Business Support Accountants with the council’s monthly budget monitoring process. As well as being a trusted advisor by providing high-quality budgetary advice to the services you will support to create a real and active working relationships with both operational and management.
