CNC Machinist – Lathe & Mill

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

• Pay: Up to $33.00/hour, depending on experience
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Saturday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM

Shift: 1st Shift

Hours: Approximately 56 hours/week

Position Overview

We are hiring a CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate CNC lathes and mills for the production of precision industrial components. The ideal candidate is comfortable working from technical drawings and producing parts to very tight tolerances in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills according to machining requirements.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and technical documentation.
• Produce precision parts while maintaining tolerances as tight as 0.0005" .
• Create and modify programs using G-code.
• Work with Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain controls; experience with every control is not required.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Verify dimensions and maintain consistent part quality.
• Follow safe work practices in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Maintain reliable attendance and a professional approach to work.
• Safely handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Work the required schedule, including Saturdays when scheduled.

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machining, programming, and machine operation experience.
• Experience with CNC lathes and mills.
• Ability to read and understand technical/machining drawings.
• Knowledge of G-code programming.
• Strong attention to detail and precision machining.
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
• Commitment to maintaining quality and production standards.
