Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire

Pay: Up to $25.00/hour, depending on experience

  • Structural Steel Fitter – 2nd Shift: 1 opening | Up to $25.00/hour + $3.00/hour shift differential
  • Structural Steel Welder/Fitter – 1st Shift: 1 opening | Up to $25.00/hour
  • 2nd Shift: The 2nd Shift Fitter position includes a $3.00/hour shift differential, bringing the potential rate to $28.00/hour, depending on experience.

Position Summary

Join a structural steel fabrication team as a Fitter or Welder/Fitter, depending on your experience. You'll work from drawings to prepare, align, assemble, and weld steel components while maintaining required quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications before beginning fabrication.
  • Measure and lay out structural steel components for assembly.
  • Position and align steel members to achieve proper fit-up.
  • Assemble structural steel components prior to welding.
  • Perform Flux Core welding when working in the Welder/Fitter role.
  • Set up and operate a track torch.
  • Properly use, maintain, and care for welding and fabrication equipment.
  • Inspect dimensions, alignment, fit, and completed work for accuracy.
  • Communicate with supervisors and other team members to maintain production schedules.
  • Keep the work area organized and follow required safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of structural steel fabrication experience required.
  • Experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Welder/Fitter, Structural Welder, or similar role.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with structural steel layout, fitting, and assembly.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Ability to set up and use a track torch.
  • Ability to perform Flux Core welding and pass a pre-employment welding test.
  • AWS or other welding certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
