About The Role

Our team is seeking a Senior Electrical CAD Designer and Drafter to join our multidisciplinary Earth & Environment (E&E) team supporting the US E&E and Mining Region Process Infrastructure and Design. The team you will join offers an interesting diversity of clients and projects in surface and underground mine infrastructure, oil & gas, process and industrial facilities, pumping and pipeline water treatment plants, and EPCM projects.

In this position of an Electrical CAD Designer/Drafter, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients in North America. This is suitable for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. Experience with Navisworks and Autodesk is a requirement

Proficiency in 3D modeling using REVIT and/or Autodesk is a requirement

  • Effectively execute electrical engineering designs from concept to completion with a high level of competence and minimal oversight.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for creating and coordinating electrical 3D models and creating sectional cuts on both large and small-scale projects using Autodesk tools
  • Effectively convey electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural requirements to the team through traditional 2D and 3D models/deliverables
  • Work independently and collaborate in cross-discipline team (mech/ process/ structural) to meet project goals.
  • Fundamental knowledge and understanding of electrical codes and North American industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, and NEC
  • Draft and design documents such as single line diagrams, panel schedules, Motor schematics and wiring diagrams, equipment and e-house layouts, lighting, grounding cable and conduit drawings, general arrangements.
  • Perform 3D model clash detection and coordinate electrical design with other disciplines.
  • Perform complex plant layout and electrical systems using 3D design modeling tools.
  • Be responsible for electrical design work related to quantity estimation effort on project or program including direct quantity (MTO) take-off from a 3D model, 2D drawings, sketches and historical data.
  • Build tools and APIs for Autodesk software to improve delivery times and increase efficiency
  • Able to work under and meet tight deadlines
  • Recognizes when technical problems are developing and initiates appropriate corrective actions
  • Build and maintain libraries of symbols and families for AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Promote engineering professionalism and maintain positive relationships internally and externally.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related field). Education may be substituted for substantial relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in lighting design tool such as DIALux, Agi32
  • Strong proficiency in ACC, BIM 360, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and/or Plant3D.
  • Sound design and 3D modeling skills for Industrial/Mining/process plant layout, electrical design and detailing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with the team.
  • Highly engaged with team in India and North America
  • Excellent computer skills such as MS Word, Excel and Projects.
  • Demonstrate advanced ability to work with others in supplying information and seeking assistance as necessary.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Working hours will require up to 4 hours of overlap with North American time zone, until 12:30 a.m. IST.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2D/3D AutoCAD, Revit, or, Plant 3D and other Autodesk program competence.
  • Experience with Power system modelling tools such as SKM or ETAP
  • Experience with creating batch scripts for automating tools.
  • Experience with mining, oil and gas, water treatment, and EPCM projects.
