Fault Management L2 Engineer - OSS

The OSS & Fault Management L2 Engineer is responsible for the administration, maintenance and support of OSS platforms and telecom services. The role includes system administration, incident and fault management, troubleshooting, implementation of changes, and ensuring service availability according to SLA commitments.

• Administer OSS applications, servers and supporting infrastructure.
• Create and manage user accounts and access rights.
• Perform system health checks, alarm monitoring and performance analysis.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, platform and network-related incidents.
• Act as L2 support and escalation point for complex faults and major incidents.
• Coordinate investigations with Network Operations, IP, Vendor and Field Support teams.
• Perform software upgrades, patching and configuration changes.
• Execute backup and recovery activities.
• Implement approved changes following operational procedures.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts where applicable.
• Participate in on-call support activities.
• Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Contribute to service improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Linux/Unix administration.
• Windows Server administration.
• Database knowledge (Oracle, Sybase, SQL).
• Virtualization technologies.
• Network protocols and troubleshooting.
• Monitoring and alarm management tools.
• Scripting and automation skills.
• Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
• ITSM and ticketing tools.
• Good written and spoken English.

OSS & Telecom Knowledge

Knowledge of telecom OSS environments and experience with one or more of the following is considered an advantage

• Nokia NetAct / Mantaray
• Nokia NSP
• Nokia NPM / NAC
• Eden-Net
• Netcool
• ITSM platforms
• EMS/NMS solutions
• Ericsson OSS tools
• Knowledge of GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G networks is an advantage.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience in OSS Operations, Managed Services, System Administration, Fault Management or Network Operations.
• Experience working in telecom operational environments.
