Job Description
Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage, delegate, and coordinate quality nursing care
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment
- Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with peers, departmental leadership, and the interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrate accountability for professional practice by participating in educational activities, maintaining clinical competency, maintaining licensure and certifications, and completing mandatory education in a timely manner
- Deliver family centered, child-focused patient care according to the nursing process
- Utilize critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practice to provide patient care
- Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, or competency validator
- Participate in at least one departmental and/or hospital wide committee or task force
- Follows all departmental and hospitalwide policies
- Demonstrate the Scottish Rite CARE RITE values
Required Skills/Abilities
- Associate degree (ADN) in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current Texas RN license or eligible for a temporary permit from the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
- 2 years RN experience required
- Pediatric experience preferred
- American Heart Association BLS
- PALS certification, or obtained within 6 months of hire
- Competent in Windows OS and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- EPIC experience preferred

- Working Conditions: Inside
- Working Position: Sitting, Standing, and Walking
- Physical Demands: Light
- Physical Requirements: Lifting/Carrying, Pushing/Pulling and Repetitive Movements
- Lifting or carrying between 35 - 50 lbs.
- Sensory/Communicative activities essential to the performance of this position: Hearing, Seeing, Smelling, Feeling, and Speaking
- This position will be exposed to Inside Environments, Bloodborne Pathogens and Respiratory Hazards
