Head of Cabin Crew

A. ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Direct reporting line and primary accountability to the Director of Flight Operations.
• Overall accountability for Flight Operations Cabin Crew Management.
• Accountable for ensuring absolute safety, security, and operational efficiency across all cabin crew operations in the network.

B. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, direct, and supervise the overall operational, safety, and administrative activities of the Cabin Crew Department.
• Maintain strict regulatory compliance and safety standards across both Rural Air Services (RAS) short-haul sectors and other commercial routes.
• Formulate and manage the annual Cabin Crew Department budget, optimizing resource allocation for multi fleet operations.
• Manage cabin service quality, passenger experience, uniform policies, and supplier contracts.
• Represent the Cabin Crew Department in departmental, company, and regulatory meetings.
• Regulatory & Safety Administration: Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities (CAAM) and OEMs; publish Cabin Safety & Security Directives with the Head of Corporate Safety; keep all cabin policies and manuals valid and updated.
• Recruitment & Rostering: Partner with the HC Department on cabin crew recruitment policy and selection; work with OCC on crew planning, staffing numbers, and timely roster publication.
• Training & Standards: In cooperation with Training and Corporate Safety Departments, to ensure all regulatory, safety and operational practices are diligently performed by cabin crew. Direct Senior Cabin Crew and Cabin Safety Inspectors by providing them with clear written instructions on their duties and responsibilities.
• In-Flight Services & Procurement: Develop passenger service techniques adapted for RAS and commercial sectors; manage uniform tenders, accessories, and in-flight supplies inline with Customer Experience direction; audit third-party service providers; coordinate with Maintenance regarding cabin safety equipment and installations.
• Performance & Quality Management: Review performance appraisals; process e-Voyage Reports; report safety irregularities or conduct violations to the Director of Flight Operations and recommend investigative hearings; present data at quality improvement forums.

C. AUTHORITY

• Authorized to decide on the scope and responsibilities of the Cabin Crew Management unit.
• Authorized to make decisions regarding departmental budget proposals and utilization.
• Authorized to approve leave applications and monetary claims for direct reports and Flight Operations staff (when their direct superior is unavailable).
• Full authority over operational, safety, risk tolerability, and administrative decisions for Cabin Crew Management.

D. DELEGATION OF DUTIES

• Administrative & Operational Alternate: The Manager, Cabin Crew is designated as the official administrative and operational alternate for the Head Cabin Crew.
• Nominated Post Holder (NPH) Alternate: Nominated Post Holder responsibilities are formally delegated to the Director of Flight Operations in the manager's absence.

E. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Educational & Experience Requirements (must meet one of the following)

• Degree in any field with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in the Aviation Industry; OR
• Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of working experience in the Aviation Industry; OR
• Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) or Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a minimum of 8 years of working experience in the Aviation Industry.

Additional Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of CAAM regulations, cabin safety standards, and fleet operational requirements for both turboprop and jet operations.
• Strong leadership, financial budgeting, and cross-departmental coordination capabilities.
• Approved by CAAM as Nominated Post Holder (NPH) for Cabin Operations
