About The Role
As an Internal Communications Specialist, your work will directly impact the success of our organization by ensuring that our Team Members are informed, motivated, and engaged in our company's mission of Creating the Extraordinary.
The Internal Communications Specialist plays an integral role within the Corporate Internal Communications team, collaborating across departments and communicating timely information for a variety of Human Resources initiatives including but not limited to talent development, benefits, compensation, operations, engagement and payroll. The team communicates information through a variety of channels, including our intranet that connects 50+ properties and 55,000+ Team Members across the organization.
- Develop and execute internal communication collateral that aligns with the company's goals and objectives. This includes creating flyers, posters, newsletters, emails, memos and presentations through graphic design or other forms of visual storytelling.
- Capture and edit video as needed to support internal storytelling.
- Create compelling and engaging content for internal communication channels such as newsletters, intranet, and email.
- Ensure that all communication is clear, concise, and consistent across all channels.
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure communications align with their objectives and priorities.
- Support development of company intranet, Empire Wire.
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field.
- Experience in internal communications or a strong desire to communicate to an internal audience.
- Visual design skills (inDesign, Canva, etc.)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to write and edit content with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate with different teams and stakeholders.
- Problem-solve and make decisions with the best interest of the company and its Team Members in mind.
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of products (including Outlook, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and ability to learn new systems and skills.
