Junior BIM Technician- Civils

Design & Drafting (Primary)

• Produce accurate 2D CAD drawings for civil and infrastructure projects, including roadworks, utilities, drainage, and structural works.
• Amend drawings based on engineers’ redlines, mark ‑ ups, and coordination inputs.
• Ensure drafting accuracy and compliance with project standards, including correct layers/levels, line weights, symbols, annotation styles, and sheet templates.
• Utilize both AutoCAD and MicroStation proficiently to meet Hong Kong project and public ‑ works submission requirements.
• Maintain structured CAD file management, including proper naming conventions, revision control, and documentation protocols.

Coordination & Support

• Understand project scope, requirements, and deliverables, raising clarifications when required.
• Participate in coordination discussions when necessary to support drafting tasks.
• Perform self-checks prior to submission to ensure dimensional accuracy, consistency, and quality presentation.

Standards & Compliance

• Follow Hong Kong CAD standards, internal drafting guidelines, and project-specific requirements.
• Assist in maintaining consistent formatting, layout, and documentation standards across all deliverables.

BIM (Optional / Bonus)

• Ability to extract simple 2D drawings from BIM models under supervision.
• Basic familiarity with model navigation.

Technical Proficiency

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation for 2D drafting.
• Strong foundation in drawing fundamentals, dimensioning, annotation standards, and engineering documentation.

Communication

• Good written and spoken English with the ability to communicate clearly with engineers and team members.

Soft Skills & Attitude

• Responsible, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new tools and drafting techniques.
• Works cooperatively within a multi-disciplinary and remote working environment.
• Diploma or certificate in Civil / Architectural / Engineering Drafting or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant CAD drafting experience.
• Preferably with exposure to structural and reinforced concrete (R.C.) drafting
• Competent in both AutoCAD and MicroStation for Hong Kong project deliverables.
• Strong motivation, reliability, and willingness to grow professionally.

BGV
