About the Role
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to own the quality of key user scenarios across the stack. In this role, you will do more than write autotests — you will build a reliable automation system that covers everything from a customer action in the Flutter mobile app to data validation in APIs, message queues, and databases.
You will work closely with developers, analysts, DevOps, and other QA engineers to ensure delivery speed and reliability of financial services. We expect an engineer who sees risks in a microservices architecture and prevents them with well-designed automated coverage. The role is fully remote, with occasional business trips if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and evolve UI autotests for the Flutter mobile application (Android/iOS) using Python and Appium.
- Design the automation framework architecture: implement and maintain Page Object patterns, business step layers, fixtures, and environment configurations.
- Work with Flutter app locators: use Semantics labels and accessibility IDs, and align their implementation with mobile developers to improve test stability.
- Ensure autotest suite stability: diagnose and eliminate flaky tests, manage waits, and configure test isolation.
- Configure and maintain Allure reporting: steps, attachments such as screenshots, logs, and traffic, run history analysis, and linking autotests to test cases.
- Integrate autotests into CI/CD using GitLab CI: run pipelines, set up parallel runs on emulators and real devices, and maintain acceptable execution time.
- Analyze new functionality, participate in requirements review, and create test designs.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Test external and internal integrations, including SOAP/REST APIs, XML/JSON processing, authorization, contracts, and service interaction errors.
- Analyze asynchronous processes: message queues and event buses such as Kafka and RabbitMQ, consumers, retries, idempotency, and delayed effects.
- Identify cross-team dependencies during task definition and align them with related teams before development and testing begin.
- Estimate testing and automation effort, maintain and expand the regression test suite.
- Analyze run results, report risks, defects, and blockers in a timely manner, and prepare clear quality reporting.
- Automate test data preparation: use SQL scripts, internal service APIs, emulation of external system states, and mocks.
- Work confidently with databases: write medium-complexity SQL queries with joins and aggregations, validate data after user operations in MS SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL, and access databases from autotest code.
- Investigate logs and metrics in monitoring systems such as Kibana, OpenSearch, and Grafana, and trace requests across services using correlation or trace IDs.
- Diagnose autotest failures: identify root causes using device logs, traffic, and service logs, and file defects in the tracking system.
