Accountabilities
- Obtain and maintain the required insurance licenses across applicable Canadian provinces, including the RIBO license required for the role.
- Provide knowledgeable, professional, and personalized service to members and partners by phone and email.
- Serve as a trusted automotive enthusiast advisor, helping members navigate insurance, membership, billing, service, and sales needs.
- Confidently explain and sell available insurance products while identifying solutions that best meet individual customer needs.
- Provide vehicle valuation expertise during customer interactions and help enthusiasts understand the value of their vehicles.
- Service existing policies accurately and efficiently while ensuring customer requests are handled in a timely manner.
- Underwrite and issue policies in accordance with current underwriting guidelines and established stop-rule underwriting practices.
- Evaluate specialty vehicle risks and ensure complex or non-standard risks are appropriately routed to the relevant teams.
- Differentiate between stock and modified vehicles and apply appropriate ratings based on vehicle characteristics.
- Assess motorcycle risks and apply applicable storage and usage guidelines.
- Run and interpret motor vehicle records and driver abstracts as required.
- Prepare accurate and complete documentation to support member activities, policy servicing, and sales transactions.
- Help members navigate online tools, website resources, and self-service options.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and service quality while handling a significant volume of telephone and digital interactions.
- Collaborate with leaders and colleagues to identify strengths, development opportunities, and ways to continuously improve the member experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience in customer service, sales, insurance, or a related customer-facing environment is preferred.
- A RIBO insurance license is required; the necessary training, education, licensing materials, and fees are provided to support successful completion.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver consistently high-quality customer service.
- Strong sales orientation and the ability to confidently present products, understand customer needs, and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and communicate professionally by phone and email.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing customer needs.
- Self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative while maintaining accountability for individual performance.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Comfortable learning and applying insurance underwriting guidelines, specialty risk considerations, and regulatory requirements.
- Effective use of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and other digital tools.
- Ability to work independently in a designated, distraction-free home workspace.
- Passion for automobiles, automotive culture, or enthusiast vehicles is highly desirable.
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills may qualify for additional compensation.
- Valid driver’s license or government-issued identification.
- Must be an Ontario resident and legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Ability to work within operating hours that may include weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
