About The Role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Systems Administrator - II based in India.

This role offers the opportunity to manage and evolve critical IT infrastructure within a growing global <organization.You> will design, deploy, secure, and maintain infrastructure solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.The position combines deep expertise in Windows, VMware, storage, networking, Azure, and AWS with a strong security-first <mindset.You> will contribute to global technology projects while partnering with infrastructure, support, and other IT teams.The role also places increasing emphasis on AI technologies, including AI administration, security, agents, and <MCPs.You> will have opportunities to mentor colleagues, improve processes, and introduce scalable technology solutions.This is a permanent remote position requiring strong autonomy, technical ownership, and a willingness to support global operations.

Accountabilities

  • Design, implement, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions for new and existing projects across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Administer VMware 7+ and Windows Server environments, including clustering, load balancing, patching, firmware management, and security best practices.
  • Manage and monitor Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, performance, and operational continuity.
  • Administer Active Directory, Entra ID/Azure AD, Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft 365/O365 environments, including user, security, and email management.
  • Administer SAN environments and dedicated storage infrastructure supporting business-critical company data.
  • Manage server, storage, backup, and disaster-recovery environments, ensuring appropriate monitoring and operational readiness.
  • Respond to escalated infrastructure incidents, including after-hours calls and alerts from server and network monitoring systems when required.
  • Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell and other scripting languages to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, processes, policies, and infrastructure standards.
  • Apply security-first principles across infrastructure design, deployment, administration, and maintenance.
  • Contribute to the adoption and administration of AI technologies, including AI security, MCPs, agents, and other emerging tools.
  • Collaborate with global IT teams on complex infrastructure projects and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and coordinate activities required to maintain infrastructure services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced-level expertise in Windows Server, Microsoft Azure, and VMware 7 or later.
  • Strong hands-on experience administering enterprise infrastructure, including servers, storage, backups, security, and virtualization.
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerShell, VBScript, SQL, Python, or other scripting technologies.
  • Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, FTP, and SFTP.
  • Strong experience with Active Directory/Entra ID, Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange, and Office 365/Azure administration.
  • Proven experience with SAN administration, VMware administration, clustering, and load balancing.
  • Experience supporting both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure in a global enterprise environment.
  • MCSE, Azure, AWS, VMware, or comparable advanced-level certifications are highly valued.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, combined with strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
  • Vendor-management experience and confidence working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Security-first mindset and willingness to continuously develop technical expertise.
  • Interest or experience in leveraging AI tools to improve daily operations, infrastructure management, security, and technology processes.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule aligned primarily with India business hours, approximately 12 PM to 9 PM IST, with occasional US-hours coverage when required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fully distributed, global support environment.
