Cider- Commissioning Electrician

Job Overview

The Commissioning Electrician is responsible for the safe and efficient electrical commissioning and testing of various systems and equipment, primarily focusing on cider production facilities. This role ensures all electrical installations meet design specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements.

Job Responsibilities:**

• Perform pre-commissioning checks, including continuity, insulation, and earth resistance testing on electrical circuits and equipment.
• Execute functional testing of electrical systems, motor controls, instrumentation, and control panels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues identified during commissioning, including wiring errors, component failures, and control system malfunctions.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure smooth system integration and handover.
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and control narratives.
• Conduct equipment calibration and verification as required.
• Document all commissioning activities, test results, and any modifications made during the process.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E).
• Provide technical support and training to operations personnel on newly commissioned systems.
• Participate in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Job Qualifications:**

• Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial electrical work, with at least 2 years in commissioning or startup roles.
• Strong understanding of electrical theory, control systems (PLC/DCS), and instrumentation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Experience with testing equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and thermal imagers.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
• Experience in the food and beverage industry, particularly with process equipment and controls, is a significant plus.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
• Valid driver's license.
