Division Manager

About The Role
SWBC is seeking a talented individual to exercise administrative control and monitors performance of the collections staff to ensure satisfactory performance to department goals and charge off performance within all state and federal legal requirements, corporate cultural requirements and quality standards.
Essential duties include the following
- Determines appropriate workload for Collections personnel, suggests work schedules to meet and maintain optimum performance, customer contact timeframes, volume demands and FTE utilization with cost effectiveness.
- Maintains communication with financial institutions to ensure client expectations are being conveyed.
- Reviews and recommends employment performance ratings, promotions, salary changes, transfers and termination of subordinate personnel.
- Ensures adherence to departmental goals, strategies, operational policies & procedures and directions for as a way to encourage employee growth and development of the collections product.
- Manages the staff, managers and activities involved with collections activities to include monitoring and verifying work schedules and attendance records; conducting performance evaluations; providing coaching, counseling, and discipline; and resolving personnel related issues.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field of study from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience required.
- FDCPA certification required.
- Minimum of five (5) years overseeing and managing collection processes and procedures, which includes at least two (2) years of charged-off debt collections, preferably in a third-party agency environment.
- Extensive knowledge of consumer laws and collections regulations including Fair Debt Collection Practice Act (FDCPA).
- Proficient negotiation skills.
- Extensive experience collecting severely delinquent, charged-off debt.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication (both written and oral) skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills.
- Able to work under stressful conditions while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Working knowledge of personal computers to include MS Word and Excel.
- Able to sit for long periods of time analyzing, executing, updating, and validating business reports and/or collection accounts.
- Able to travel locally and/or nationally.
