Job Summary

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Quality to lead quality excellence across manufacturing operations, project execution, supplier quality, commissioning activities, and field service operations. Based in Oklahoma City, this role partners closely with the Vice President of Commercial Quality to ensure successful project delivery, customer satisfaction, and adherence to world-class quality standards. The Director of Quality is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide quality strategies while providing direct quality leadership throughout the project lifecycle. This position serves as the key liaison between Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, Commissioning, and Customer teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated from design and production through installation, startup, and project closeout. The ideal candidate combines strong technical quality expertise with leadership experience in complex manufacturing and project-based environments. They will drive a culture of "Right First Time," champion continuous improvement initiatives, and proactively identify risks and opportunities to improve product reliability, project execution, and customer outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Lead enterprise-wide quality strategy, systems, and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, project delivery, commissioning, supplier quality, and field service operations.
  • Partner with the VP of Commercial Quality to establish quality objectives, performance metrics, strategic initiatives, and a culture of "Right First Time" execution.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Plans, Quality Control Strategies, and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015, customer specifications, regulatory standards, and internal procedures.
  • Drive project and operational quality performance through audits, process assessments, surveillance activities, management reviews, KPI reporting, nonconformance management, corrective and preventive actions, and root cause investigations.
  • Oversee quality throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement, manufacturing, shipping, installation, construction, commissioning, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), handover, and project closeout activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Service, Project Management, and contractor partners to proactively identify risks, resolve quality issues, and ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Review BIM360 observations, punch lists, warranty claims, field quality concerns, and customer feedback to identify trends, drive corrective actions, and implement systemic improvements.
  • Conduct onsite evaluations of manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and service activities while providing recommendations to improve product quality, reliability, packaging, manufacturability, serviceability, and installation efficiency.
  • Lead Operational Project Reviews (OPR), lessons learned initiatives, Method of Procedure (MOP) development and review, and continuous improvement programs to strengthen quality performance across projects and facilities.
  • Develop predictive quality measures, analytics, and reporting tools that support data-driven decision-making and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives to improve performance, reduce defects, and enhance customer outcomes.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing quality organization, represent the Quality function in customer and leadership forums, and foster strong cross-functional partnerships across the business.
  • Travel as needed to manufacturing facilities, supplier locations, project sites, and customer installations

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related technical discipline required.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive quality leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial equipment, HVAC, mission-critical infrastructure, construction, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience leading quality initiatives in both manufacturing and project-based environments.
  • Auditor training and practical experience conducting audits and managing quality systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001:2015 implementation, auditing, and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience implementing Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and process improvement programs.
  • Experience supporting project delivery teams, construction activities, commissioning efforts, and contractor quality management.
  • Knowledge of supplier quality management, manufacturing quality systems, customer quality requirements, and project controls.
  • Understanding of applicable industry regulations, codes, and standards, including PED, CE, and related certification requirements preferred.
  • Experience reviewing and utilizing BIM360 or similar project quality management software.
  • Strong background in root cause analysis, corrective action management, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of engineering project delivery within regulated or technically complex environments.
  • Project management experience is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence all levels of the organization and challenge existing processes, behaviors, and assumptions to drive improvement.
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership capabilities and the ability to build effective working relationships across diverse teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to operational excellence, product reliability, and successful project outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
