Senior AI Engineer

Join Lloyds Banking Group as a Senior AI Engineer in the Intelligent Customer Products (ICP) platform. This hands-on technical role involves designing, building, and supporting AI-powered customer experiences. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop and deploy machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI solutions. • Design, develop, test, and deploy LLM and agentic AI solutions, contributing to the development of LLM, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic AI solutions.
• Implement reliable and scalable AI solutions using established software engineering, MLOps, and LLMOps practices, and contribute across the AI delivery lifecycle from experimentation to production deployment.
• Collaborate with platform engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into enterprise services and customer journeys, and support Responsible AI, model governance, monitoring, auditability, and risk management requirements.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including exposure to services such as Vertex AI, BigQuery and Kubernetes
• Experience working with conversational AI platforms and customer-facing AI applications
• Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle
• Awareness of Responsible AI, model governance, security and operational considerations when deploying AI solutions
• Applied AI/ML and GenAI experience with knowledge of established patterns (RAG, tool use, guardrails, evaluation, agents) and an ability to evaluate tools and approaches
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven experience engineering technology solutions in complex environments and supporting production operations
• Understanding of CI/CD, version control and software delivery best practices
