AI Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an engineering role at a small, fast-moving AI software startup where you will own two of the most critical technical challenges: backend scalability and LLM/AI agent flow optimization. Your work will directly shape platform performance and the quality of the user experience for a product that sits at the intersection of AI and everyday professional productivity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and implement backend systems and services built to operate at scale.
• Tune and iterate on LLM integrations and AI agent orchestration to improve reliability and efficiency in production.
• Take end-to-end ownership of both backend infrastructure and AI pipeline work, shipping meaningful improvements continuously.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Substantial hands-on track record of coding and shipping production software over time.
• Strong backend engineering experience designing and scaling distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience optimizing LLMs and AI agent flows in real production environments.
• High agency, clear ownership mindset, and intentional career choices that reflect genuine commitment to craft.
• A strong side-project portfolio demonstrating technical depth and sustained curiosity.
• Experience working at fast-growing, early-stage startups is a strong plus.
• Practical experience is valued; formal credentials are not required.
• Eligible and willing to work on-site in Stockholm, including relocation if needed. Visa sponsorship is not available.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $80,000 to $120,000 USD annually, plus equity. The salary and equity mix is negotiable, with flexibility for exceptionally senior candidates. Visa sponsorship is not available.

LOCATION

On-site in Stockholm, Sweden. Candidates must be willing and legally able to work in Sweden.
