About The Role
The Junior Interior Designer is an early-career design professional who supports the execution of luxury residential interiors. This role contributes to the development, documentation, and coordination of highly curated interior environments while building a strong foundation in Blue Heron’s design standards, detailing, and elevated client experience. Working under the guidance of senior design leadership, the Junior Interior Designer plays a critical role in ensuring design intent is translated accurately, efficiently, and consistently throughout all phases of the project.
Responsibilities
- Support Senior Interior Designers, Project Interior Designers, and Senior Project Interior Designers in the development of luxury residential interiors from concept through installation.
- Assist in the preparation of refined presentation materials, including mood boards, finish boards, digital presentations, and curated sample trays.
- Contributes to the development of interior drawings, including plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations, and details, under direction.
- Create, maintain, and update FF&E specifications and pricing proposals with a high degree of accuracy.
- Track product samples, pricing, lead times, and approvals; follow up with vendors as directed to support timely decision-making.
- Participate in site visits to document existing conditions, verify field dimensions, and support quality control through photos and notes.
- Maintain organized and accurate project files, drawings, and documentation to support seamless project execution.
- Learn and consistently apply Blue Heron’s interior design standards, detailing, templates, and workflows.
- Seek feedback and demonstrate continuous improvement in technical proficiency, design sensibility, and professional judgment.
- Support a collaborative, detail-oriented studio culture aligned with Blue Heron’s values and commitment to excellence.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field preferred.
- 0–3 years of professional interior design experience (internships included).
- Proficiency in design software Revit/AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong eye for detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Demonstrated growth in technical and design skills.
- Passion for high-end residential design and client experience.
