Lullabys Montessori & Afterschool is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Play Group Leader to join our childcare team.

Lullabys has been providing early years and school-aged childcare and education in Dublin since 2006. We are committed to providing high-quality, child-centred care and education within a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work directly with children as part of our childcare team and contribute to the planning and delivery of high-quality play, learning and developmental experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise children's play and activities and encourage the development of physical, social, emotional and language skills.
  • Plan, organise and provide age-appropriate play and learning experiences.
  • Prepare play areas, resources and materials for children's activities.
  • Encourage children's independence, self-confidence, creativity and positive social interaction.
  • Support children's individual learning, developmental and additional needs.
  • Organise and supervise indoor and outdoor activities and outings where appropriate.
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and well-organised play and learning environment.
  • Ensure activities are organised and supervised in accordance with health and safety requirements and service policies and procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to accidents, injuries and emergencies in accordance with service procedures.
  • Liaise professionally with parents, guardians, colleagues and other professionals where appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate records relating to children's care, learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the day-to-day running of the service.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience working with children in an educational, childcare or similar setting.
  • Relevant academic or professional qualifications are desirable.
  • Good understanding of children's learning, development and wellbeing.
  • Good communication, organisational and teamwork skills.
  • Operational fluency in English appropriate to childcare provision, communication with children and families and maintaining required records.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy childcare team.
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Salary: €37,544 per annum.
