Responsibilities

The Desktop Support Analyst is primarily responsible for the Tier II support function of Desktop Services. Duties include management, coordination, and completion of Moves/Adds/Changes (MACs), Break / Fix, and L2 support & problem response for the following component technologies: Desktops, Laptops, Tablets, Zero-Clients, Printers, Mobile Devices, etc. The majority of the Desktop Support Analyst’s time will be spent on support and problem resolution matters; however, this individual would also participate in Desktop Team Projects and support engineering efforts as appropriate.

  • Provide Level 2 support to the desktop end user community. This includes monitoring the problem queue and responding to triaged Break / Fix incidents for Desktops, , Laptops, Tablets, Printers, Mobile Devices, etc. and fully documenting response and resolution in order to close tickets.
  • Plan, coordinate, and complete Relocations, Adds, and Changes Across the Enterprise
  • Leverage desktop management tools and applications to enable effective and efficient support. This includes including remote control software (i.e., Bomgar), software distribution (i.e., Symantec Altiris), asset management (i.e., Barcode Essentials), and virus protection services (i.e., McAfee)
  • Provide support to end user by diagnosing root cause, providing troubleshooting expertise, determining options for resolution, and resolving issues. In the event that issue resolution cannot be achieved, it becomes the Desktop Support Analyst’s responsibility to escalate the issue to the Desktop Engineer for Tier III support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree desired or equivalent technical training with at least 3 years’ experience in Desktop

Support services.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a desktop support role with Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong, demonstrable experience in Microsoft / Windows 7 & 10, HP/Dell computer hardware,
  • Strong, demonstrable experience with HP/Xerox MFD printers, MS Office support.
