About The Role
Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Food Store Manager to lead our Food Store team on a full-time basis at our Food Store located in St. Paul, Alberta . Reporting to the Food Coordinator.
What you’ll do
- Lead the successful day-to-day operation of the St. Paul Food Store, with accountability for financial performance, sales growth, operational excellence, staffing, safety, customer service and overall store results.
- Drive sales and profitability through effective merchandising, pricing, inventory management, promotions, customer loyalty initiatives, and strong execution of store programs.
- Monitor store performance and implement strategies to achieve sales, margin, expense, and operational targets while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth.
- Develop, coach, and support a high-performing team by fostering employee engagement, accountability, development, succession planning, and a positive work environment,
- Build and maintain strong relationships with member-owners, customers, team members, vendors, internal partners, community stakeholders, and other external contacts.
- Ensure high standards for customer service, merchandising, store presentation, food safety, asset protection, loss prevention, and compliance with company policies, procedures, professional standards and applicable legislation.
- Lead annual planning, goal setting, budgeting, workforce planning, and corporate talent management processes for the Food Store.
- Ensure required administrative duties, reporting, inspections, and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Represent the Co-operative positively within the community and lead by example in demonstrating behaviours that reflect the Co-operative’s vision, mission, values, brand, and commitment to safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Coordinator.

Who you are
- You have 3 – 5 years of relevant experience including a minimum of 3 years experience leading leaders in a retail food environment.
- Previous management within the Co-op Retailing System will be considered an asset.
- You possess strong leadership skills and enjoy coaching and developing a team.
- You are able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs. Loads exceeding 50 lbs. will be managed with lifting equipment or assistance in accordance with safety guidelines.
- You can successfully complete required background checks, including a Criminal Record Check and credit check.
- You have a valid Class-5 driver’s license and can provide a satisfactory 5-year standard driver’s abstract.
- You are action oriented, customer focused and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dynamic work environment.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and can manage files and administrative documentation.
- You are honest, trustworthy, results-driven and strive for excellence in your work.
- You believe in building relationships and collaborating with others to achieve shared goals.
- You are customer-focused and passionate about delivering exceptional service.
