Research Associate Position – The CODA (Culturally Optimizing DBT for Adolescents) Project
The Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine on Moses Campus, Bronx, NY is now accepting applications for a one or two-year (preferred), full-time research associate position in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A) Program for 2026-2028. The DBT-A Program serves adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 and their caregivers. DBT is an evidence-based psychotherapy that blends standard cognitive-behavioral therapy with the eastern philosophy of mindfulness. Designed for individuals who engage in suicidal, self-injurious, and high-risk behaviors, DBT has been shown to help keep multi-problem teens in outpatient care, decrease inpatient hospitalizations, and reduce depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder symptoms, and self-injury and suicide attempts.
The research associate will collaborate on a grant project that aims to optimize DBT-A to incorporate cultural humility, antiracism and intersectionality principles, center voices of BIPOC youth through continuous collaboration, enhance engagement from families and communities, explore protective factors for suicide among BIPOC youth, and expand the capacity of Montefiore’s DBT-A Program to provide services to BIPOC youth.
The fellow will be provided with a full and comprehensive benefit package, including 20 vacation days, 9 hospital holidays, 12 sick days, and 5 conference days.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors Degree required
- One to two years experience in a similar role required
Candidates must meet all following requirements
- Strong interest in cultural humility, antiracism, and intersectionality principles
- Candidates who are Spanish-speaking and/or members of the BIPOC community are especially encouraged to apply.
