As a Senior Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the within the Commercial and Investment Bank, Digital & Platform Services
team , you exhibit both depth and breadth of knowledge regarding software, applications, and technical processes across multiple technical disciplines. You also have a specialization in a specific domain within infrastructure engineering to drive programs or initiatives consisting of multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
- Applies deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies focused on analyzing complex data and systems, anticipating issues, considering upstream and downstream implications, and advising on mitigation actions
- Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate analysis of complex infrastructure signals and documentation of mitigation options, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
- Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and technology processes
- Drives results and implements multiple complex programs
- Drives thought leadership within the product line
- Responsible for infrastructure engineering in accordance with business requirements and executes work according to compliance standards, risk and security, and business objectives
- Leads reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted practices across delivery and automation routines to reduce recurring issues, ensuring changes are validated, traceable and auditable, and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
- Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of large-scale market data infrastructure across multiple technologies, applications, and business lines, making and owning high-impact architectural decisions with firm-wide reach.
- Own end-to-end production health for critical platforms (reliability, performance, capacity, resilience), defining the monitoring/observability approach and proactively identifying and mitigating upstream/downstream risks across dependencies.
- Drive the strategy and roadmap for market data distribution, automation, and cloud migration—balancing near-term execution with long-term platform sustainability, scalability, and cost efficiency through modern engineering practices.
- Provide senior technical leadership by mentoring engineers, setting engineering standards, maturing deployment/capacity/incident processes, leading RCA/forensics, and partnering with senior stakeholders to govern remediation through completion while fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as: hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience or performance assessments
- Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
- Adept in specific infrastructure technology and programming languages
- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies (ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds)
- Advanced Python automation/tooling expertise with proven cross-team adoption, combined with deep Linux/Unix proficiency for large-scale performance tuning, diagnostics, and operational excellence in production.
- Strong low-latency infrastructure fundamentals, including TCP/IP, multicast, and latency optimization, with hands-on experience designing, scaling, and operating market/data workflows, pipelines, and distribution systems.
- Expert, methodical troubleshooting and incident leadership for mission-critical platforms, using diagnostic tools and rigorous methodologies to drive swift resolution and durable fixes.
- Broad, hands-on infrastructure depth across hardware, networking, databases, storage, deployment/integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessment, plus experience architecting and migrating across public and private cloud environments while mentoring and influencing engineering teams and stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Deep knowledge of market data symbology, identifiers, reference data, and conventions such as futures rolls and corporate actions
- Hands-on expertise with market data distribution platforms (e.g., IDP, AMPS, AAAS, RMDS/TREP, Bloomberg BPIPE/MFA, Refinitiv Data Feeds, Solace) and direct exchange connectivity/feeds, including DACS entitlements
- Significant experience supporting trading or front-office environments
- Advanced experience with monitoring and forensic tools such as ITRS Geneos
- A demonstrated drive to continuously advance infrastructure engineering knowledge, data fluency, and automation across the organization
