Job Description

As a Transportation Management Specialist, you are at the heart of our global supply chain, ensuring products reach customers on time, in full, and at the right cost. You will coordinate international shipments, collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders, and solve logistical challenges. From managing transport disruptions to driving continuous improvement initiatives, no two days are the same. Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular assessments of transportation capacity and performance, identifying areas for optimization and implementing corrective actions to improve service levels, working under general supervision.
  • Communicates shipment status, delays, and other transportation and distribution-related matters to internal teams and external partners in a timely and transparent manner, escalating issues for resolution as needed.
  • Ensures the quality assurance of master data and transactional data throughout the entirety of his/her operational activities, maintaining a stringent adherence to established protocols and standards to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all created and updated records.
  • Reviews and analyzes transportation data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, providing recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Interacts with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain comprehensive transportation plans for both inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring alignment with business objectives and adherence to established processes.
  • Guides the execution of transportation plans, including tracking and monitoring shipments, coordinating with carriers and suppliers, and resolving any issues or delays that may arise.
  • Monitors the documentation and reporting of transportation KPIs and performance metrics, providing insights to stakeholders and management for decision-making and process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides guidance for logistics-related projects, including system implementations, process enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics function.
  • Interacts with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless integration of new transportation destinations and service providers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participates in the evaluation and selection of transportation service providers, conducting due diligence and negotiating contracts to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
  • Guides team members on transportation processes, systems, and best practices, promoting knowledge sharing and skills development within the logistics team.

Minimum required Education

High School Diploma, Vocational Education/ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or equivalent.

Minimum required Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in areas as such as Supply Chain, Transport, Logistics, Operations, Physical Distribution or equivalent or no prior experience with Bachelor's Degree.
