About The Role

Cantor Fitzgerald Technology Markets LLC is seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of a latency‑sensitive foreign‑exchange trading platform. The role blends deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, guiding architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving the resolution of critical production issues while collaborating closely with business and operations stakeholders.

  • Design, develop, test, and document reliable, high‑performance Java applications for a real‑time FX trading platform.
  • Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Lead architecture and design of complex, distributed, latency‑sensitive trading systems.
  • Establish technical direction and mentor engineers on design, code quality, testing, and best practices.
  • Partner with technology and business stakeholders to shape the engineering roadmap.
  • Diagnose and resolve critical production incidents, performing root‑cause analysis and preventive improvements.
  • Evaluate and promote emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted tools, to enhance engineering efficiency.
  • Ensure systems are resilient, highly available, and fault‑tolerant.
  • Support 24/7 production environments with minimal downtime.
  • Drive performance optimization for scalability, reliability, and low latency.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 15+ years of software engineering experience, including high‑performance Java development.
  • Hands‑on experience building and supporting multithreaded, distributed, real‑time trading systems.
  • Proven track record leading technical design and architectural decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence engineering standards.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and distributed‑system design.
  • Expertise optimizing applications for performance, scalability, reliability, and latency.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with Linux environments, scripting, network programming, and relational databases (e.g., Oracle).
  • Background in electronic order handling, FIX protocol, and market‑data processing is a plus.

Compensation Expectations: $200,000 - $250,000 Base Salary
